Mother’s Day is a very ancient tradition.
Originally it was celerate on the First day of Spring (today only Libano keeps the date) to homenage Goddess and the idea of fertility and rebirthing.
From that day many things have changed and today it is just to “excuse” to say THANKS to a very important part of family and society.
It was 1907 when Ana Jarvis in the USA, asked for the first time to celebrate her mother publically. Then, in 1914 President Woodrow Wilson decided to declare officially Mother’s Day all around the Country.
Mother’s Day is celebrated in different dates all around the world, most beetwen March and May, except for Indonesia (22 of December) and Argentina (second Sunday of November). In Albany it is on Women’s Day (8 of March) and in Costa Rica it is on S. Mary’s day (15 of August).
Many Countries celebrate it on the second Sunday of May: Italy, Australia, Brasil, Canada, Germany, Peru, India, japon, New Zealand, Greece, Singapore and one week before many others countries: Spain, Hong Kong, Holland, South Africa, Taiwan, Portugal…
Children usually give to their moms something they’ve made by themselves, but as soon as the date is arriving, newspapers are full of new “ideas“ to buy or create presents and media suggest always new products.
We picked a very simple, sweet, fashion and cheep idea to say:

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

23 to 28 April is Lima Fashion Week.
The fashion week of Lima intends to be the platform that enables Peruvian designers to show them to the world.
Peru is a textile country with proposals rooted in the works of the hands of artisans who first inhabited these lands, not only in the raw material (cotton, alpaca and vicuña), but also in the way they combined colors inspired by nature.
Peru is a design destination.
What inspirated the LFW designers?
Ani Alvarez Calderón: I was inspired by the message “no prejudice“.
Sumy Kujon: My collection is inspired by the haykus.
Edward Venero: I was inspired by the carnivals to fill winter with full of color.
Jorge Luis Salinas: I worked with the evolution of denim to high fashion.
Noah Bernacelli: The collection is inspired by forests, fairies and nymphs.
Ana Maria Guiulfo: The collection is all about luxury and baroque but always quite modern.
Fatima Arrieta: My inspiration is the silver filigree and sleepy.
Claudia Jimenez: My inspiration was determined by modern women who catch the city with sober and elegant shapes.
Andrea Llosa: My collection is inspired by urban tribes.
Gerardo Privat: I think to my clients, intelligent women, powerful, whom do not need a prince to rescue them.
Semsh Stika: I wanted sequined dresses and slacks frosty

Yanamishi doesn’t like politics but this time we feel like we need to say something…
Unfortunately we must admit that in this tragedy there are all the ingredients of an Italian copycat : a dream vacation (for someone) in a unique and wonderful setting, a “Puffin” feeling too cunning and Almighty, than the disaster and the great humanity of ordinary people involved in spite of themself, the pain of the victims and… someone who want to speculate on that pain.
Because you can invent any excuse, you can quote the sentence of a poor silly man, but it remains the fact that too many have suffered for those words. Someone lost a son or a loved beings. Do you really think it’s funny?
We don’t.
That’s why we are asking to the “tourists of horror”: please, respect the pain of others and stop going to make stupid pictures to an underwater grave.
That’s why we say “shame on you!” to thhose who are selling and buying these t-shirts stained with .

The arrival of the New Year is an excellent opportunity for rites and for asking help of magical elements.
yanamishi offers two classics from the Andean tradition:

PALO SANTO is a natural incense made from the bark of South American trees that is used to purify people and environments. The andean shamans also use it to bless the “alasitas“, thumbnails representing people’s wishes that often materialize in their hands right to the end of the year.
A supreme example of alasita is the EKEKO
Ekeko is a statuette representing the God of abundance and fertility.
In Peru and Bolivia you can find it not only at people’s home, but also in their stores. It is said that if you offer him a cigarette and some alcohol, this nice character repay you realizing your wishes and you will not ever miss the necessary goods, that he carries on his back.
These products are hand made and you can buy them directly on this blog at the lowest price of the web: take a tour to check and …

The best things need time to become what they are …
A good ham remains almost 2 years drying
A piece of Parmigiano Reggiano PDO it takes more than 2 years to matures
Waiting for a good wine is more than six years
And for a new life it needs at least 9 months of total dedication.
That’s why our latest post goes back such a long time ago …
Because we were preparing for something really special
even always covering with only the best

And also yanamishi is going to be renewed in a very new way!

Multiple astronomical events were lining up for a rare display of synchronization as a total lunar eclipse overlaps with 2010′s winter solstice. Depending on the location, late night December 20 or early morning December 21, the full moon has been darkened by Earth’s shadow as our planet passed between it and the sun. December 21 is also the winter solstice, the longest night of the year, after which the days will begin to grow longer. Coupled with the lunar spectacle, it means we’ve been in for an especially dark eve.

While it is merely a coincidence that the eclipse falls on the same date as this year’s winter solstice, for eclipse watchers this means that the moon will appear very high in the night sky, as the solstice marks the time when the Earth’s axial tilt is farthest away from the sun. According to The AP, North and Central America has both been able to view the entire eclipse. Unlike solar eclipses, lunar eclipse are perfectly safe to view without any special glasses or equipment. From beginning to end, the eclipse lasted about three hours and twenty-eight minutes. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth lines up directly between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun’s rays and casting a shadow on the moon. As the moon moves deeper and deeper into the Earth’s shadow, the moon changes colour before your very eyes, turning from grey to an orange or deep shade of red.
According toAolNews.com, NASA reports that this is the first time an eclipse has coincided with a solstice since December 21, 1638, and the next one won’t come around again until 2094. The extravaganza in the sky didn’t end there, however, as the Ursids meteor shower was also taking place.
